500X: Tell us about your time at 500X. What was it like?
NM: Being at 500x was one of the best professional learning experiences I have had. Not only did I learn about the business of running a gallery but how to collaborate with other artist. The gallery was very lively with a group of artist that were very close with one another. We loved experimenting with new ideas, creating new spaces and working on big projects. We installed a new lighting system, built the bar, had a DJ in residence for the openings, created the 2 project spaces and got 500x into online banking!
500X: Do you have a favorite moment from your membership?
NM: While I was a member we had the 30th anniversary show. It was an amazing exhibition with a great collection of artist. We also created a nice catalogue for the exhibition.
500X: What do you think you gained from being a 500X member?
NM: Like I mentioned earlier, it was some of the best education in my professional career. I learned how to light my work, hang all kinds of artwork on the wall, and price work. 500x allows for experimentation which keeps the space exciting.
500X: How has 500X impacted your career as an artist?
NM: The connections that were made while working at 500x helped to continue my exhibitions throughout the country. It has also helped with making personal connections in my professional career.
500X: Do you have any photos you could share from your time at 500X?
